I love growing plants, you guys. Some folk buy lots of shoes or bull whips or pets; I buy plants. I have a whole gaggle of house plants in my apartment and window space is sparse so I picked up an old, ugly (yet functional) plant stand at a vintage market last fall. You can see it in action here. I have had intentions to beautify it from the beginning but only got around to it last week.
Tools -
- Spray paint – I used a yellow gloss
- Interior satin – in a creamy matte to contrast with the glossy yellow
- Paint brushes for detail work
- Tape and newspaper for paint control

It took about 6 coats of yellow spray paint to achieve a uniform color. Then a little patience and a steady hand for the trim. I think the cream trim is adorable. The whole thing came out Pleasentville as hell. I really like the results.

Eat your hearts out,

Sup Babies? Rain? Yeah, it’s been raining buckets here in soggy, waterlogged Kansas City, but onto more pressing matters:

UPS!!!!!!!! Where is my G.D. camera!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Enough with this playin around. Expedite!

I was just checking my stats out (cause I’m a narcissist like that) and one of you silly lil’ squirrels found this blog by searching “naughty mary pat”. You kids are weird-as-hell. I still feel x’s and o’s for you though.

I made these crazy earrings yesterday for selling at Gifted Hands (I know Gifted Hands sounds like a happy ending massage parlor to you sluttier readers, getcho head outtta the gutter!) Behold:

Eat your heart out,

I picked up a super nifty yarn called Cha-Cha made by the Trendsetter company. I saw it at Urban Arts and Crafts here in Kansas City and had to have it, for you see, it ruffles as you knit it. Amazing. It took me a while to figure out how to get started. This video was quite helpful. Just a simple knit stitch the whole way through will produce ruffles on both sides if your work, purling alternating rows will create a thick crop of ruffles on one side only.
Unfortunately I’ve been real busy trip planning and working and whatnot, so I’m not done yet, but here’s my progress so far:
I think it looks like naughty neck lingerie, and in fact, it wouldn’t be hard to just knit some triangles and stitch them onto a bra and panties for instant burlesque quality skivvies.
