OH, HEY YOU GUYS!!  Yeah, I’ve been not doing the New Years resolution that I’d set out to do (yeah, the one where I was all “I’m gonna blog more”).  SO WHAT, I’m trying (barely).

I knew you’ll all respect my honesty about my failures.  But, lets take a moment to talk about my extremely mild successes: I believe I have been excelling in the area of my winter lipstick game.

Also, I’ve been really relishing the way my new spectacles pair with a dark plum lipstick to create the most terminal of chronic resting bitchfaces.

If looking this bitchy is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.  Eat your hearts out,

Some dear friends of mine had their first child last month and as I mentioned in a previous post, I busied myself painting a jellyfish for their sea-themed nursery.  You may be saying to yourself “mpL, you certainly don’t seem like a ‘baby person’” and mostly you’d be right;  Except for my friend’s children.  I adore the children of my friends.  They induce a squishy-snuggley feeling inside my heart one can only really define as baby-love.  Anyway, this is Penelope Adele:

She probably looks just like every baby, but I swear she looks just like perfection.  Anyways, this is my first ever gift to her.  Hopefully it never gives her nightmares.

Slayer of Hearts, Destroyer of Nipples, Penelope “Penny” Adele, Keeper of the Aubergine Jellyfish.

Eat your hearts out,

My dreams have been extraordinarily vivid lately.  It makes it hard to get out of bed and be productive when I so badly want to see what my unconscious brainz will conjure up next.

Been a-working on a painting plus a-working on a living. The painting is a gift to be hung in an oceanic themed nursery and I have less than a month before the stork “drops it’s load” upon my friends.  Gotta get crackin of that.  But in the meantime I will leave you with this little doodle I worked on last month and alluded to in a previous post:

Eat your heart out,

Lots and lots of work and little else.  That’s my excuse for not posting here in a dogs age.  But more on that later.

I can see the gears of summer are in full motion (people in very little clothing with excessive sunburn) but it’s looking like the summer of 2011 is mostly about putting away fun and taking care of business for me.  So in an effort to grab a little bit of summer for myself I’d like to submit to you, dear reader, Summer Scraps: a collection of summery flickr photos to ease my indoor kid blues.

Hot nights, sunny afternoons, thunderstorms, mischief and bare flesh.  The best parts of summer.

Eat your hearts out,

Life is a-moving at super-speeds as of late.  Therefore, I’m gonna try to keep this brief since I should probably be doing something more “productive” than blogging.  I give you in no particular order, photographic evidence of events of late incluting but not limited to a giant head sculpture by David Platter, the Shangri-Lounge, and a recent pedicure.

That’s all for now, squirrels.  Thanks for stopping by, and remember to keep eating your heart out,
