It’s been a minute, eh?  New year, new excuses not to blog, I’m sure you all understand…

As you may recall, the man friend and I have fearlessly resolved to not eat out for the entire month of January and it’s been going mostly swimmingly.  We did include one caveat for special events and we have had to break TWICE!  Japanese food with a friend from outta town and steak with my delightfully pregnant friend (when a pregnant lady wants to go out for meat candy YOU DO NOT SAY NO). In atonement we decided to tack an extra week on, extending the joys of “Eat-In January” to February thus making up for our delicious sins.

I really should have been documenting our culinary adventures of the month, but I get so wrapped up in cooking that I forget how much I love to shoot food porn.  Sads.

“Eat-In January” has led to an enormous amount of homebody-ism SOOOO…  since I can’t really show you what I’ve been eating I can at least show you where I’ve been eating it.  Almost evens out rrriiiiggghhhttttt???  It’s a conciliatory offering mm-kay:

Placated, aren’t you.  I hope to Jeebus you ate your lilly hearts out,

Here I am, sitting at work, wishing there were something good to eat around this godless pit.  Sooooo,  I’ve decided to reminisce upon my recent foods.  You know, good food prepared in the comfort of home, not full of the organ preserving sludge they serve in food courts.  It promises to be a feast for the eyes at the very least and food porn at the very most, join me won’t you?

Roasted fall vegetables.  I wish my blog had scratch ‘n sniff so you could all know just how good this smelled while it was cooking.

The insides of a Saturday morning omelet.  So fresh.  So delicious.

Udon noodle soup packed with carrots, mushrooms, spinach, tofu and much, much more!

Nothing says “hey we’re all friends, right?” like getting together, throwing an adorable suckling pig in a fiery pit, barbarically butchering it and eating the result.  It was delicious beyond words.  In Pork We Trust.

Eat your hearts out,

I’ve been a neglectful, sorry excuse for a bloggerina and I apologize.  Because I love you all.  Truly.  Madly. Deeply.

That said, I think it’s high time we all went under the influence, flickr style.  If you don’t have a flickr account I don’t blame you because it costs $$ to have an unlimited account, but it is absolutely free to putter around and look at really pretty photographs.  Here are some of my all time favorites to feed your eye holes with.  BTDub, is that your boss standing behind you?  Cause this shit’s mildly NSFW:

fake inflatable doll – dana

perhydrol

Elekrisiti

From the Vaults: Mildred Von – Nadya Lev

Day 399 – Virtuosity – Christophe Verdier

frei – Jason Robinette

la vague – quadratiges

As always, eat your heart out,

In an attempt to make Monday more bearable, I’ve been doing a little something I like to call new music Monday.  I believe it’s more or less self explanatory.  Here’s some new acquisitions:

Amon Tobin – Bloodstone EP

Tokyo Police Club – Elephant Shell

Marco Benevento – Between the Needles & Nightfall

St. Vincent – Actor

But…..  I’ve already broke tradition today by having a “new makeup Monday”… because I say so.  The disruption of regularly scheduled music buying is mostly due to Sephora’s  generosity (they give me a birthday “present” with my purchase).  Regardless, I’ll be reinstating new music Monday next week and would love some suggestions if you have any.

And now I give you my attempt at writing my initials with the light of my cell phone via long exposure:

And on an immensely exciting final note, I (literally) just received word that the man friend and I have been approved for our new living quarters.  Papers shall be signed on Thursday and we move in the 1st.  The future is now bitches.  Pictures shall appear as I snap them.

Eat your hearts out,

Greetings babies.  I finally installed new fancy memory into my old pal and partner in computing crime, Glenn Coco.  The old gal is running at TOP SPEEDS!  Very exciting.  Soon I will chronicle my adventures in d.i.y. computer repair for your amusement and consideration.  But now, onto some very exciting photos from the past few weeks:

One of three adorable fuzz babies I watched a few weeks back, Reggie.  He’s a burrower, charmer and blanket spelunker.

Families like to reunite every so often and mine is no exception.  The weekend of the 4th of July was dominated by my maternal relatives.  Our size is of casual catholic proportions (HUGE) so there was a bevy of food and children and hugging and group photos all culminating in watching fireworks in the pouring rain.  Behold the delight:

A jump-shot a day keeps the sads at bay:

I give you:  An Afternoon of Vietnamese Food and Shopping

Thats all for now lil’ bubbes, more to come, and don’t forget to eat your heart out,
